When the World Was Buying Food, Leaders Were Buying Learning
Most economic sectors were stalled during the pandemic, and experienced a decline of even 50–60%, and the International Labour Organization has reported a loss of over 200 billions of working hours.
Yet, according to the LinkedIn Learning 2020 Workplace report, under the pandemic executives are making Learning and Development a priority and they chose instead to invest in learning activities, that would help them acquire more insights and develop themselves further.
When compared to October 2019, in May 2020 CEOs increased their learning and development by 70%! In March and April managers were spending twice the amount of time on learning and development than they did in January and February.
Many business leaders, consider the period of the pandemic as a unique opportunity to upskill, reskill and enhance the development of their people, so that they are ready for the post-pandemic era.
It seems that business leaders opted in the investment with the most valuable ROI: Knowledge.
